CONTENTS
On behalf of the organisers, it is with great pleasure to welcome you to the Victory Dance and Performing Arts Festival! We are thrilled to gather talented dancers, artists, and enthusiasts from near and far to celebrate the power, passion and beauty of performance.
This festival is more than just a stage it’s a space where creativity shines, dreams take flight, and artistry connects us all. Over the coming days, you will witness breathtaking performances, inspiring collaborations, and the incredible dedication that defines our performing arts community.
To all participants: thank you for sharing your talent, courage, and hard work. Each routine and performance represents hours of practice, discipline and love for the art. Whether you’re performing, teaching, or supporting from the audience, your presence helps make this festival a vibrant success.
May this festival inspire you to continue reaching for new heights both on and off the stage.
Welcome to the Victory Dance and Performing Arts Festival where passion meets performance, and every artist is a champion.
Our directors have years of experience not only in events and festivals but in performing arts and have all trained at vocational colleges including Central School of Ballet, Arts Educational, Urdang and Addict Dance Academy. We as a team are always looking for ways to improve and grow the performing arts opportunities in the UK and Scotland.
We work with world renowned adjudicators across all of our events providing professional feedback and critiques giving their expertise to ensure that all dancers feel valued, nurtured and leave with inspiration for their next performance.
With warmest regards,
The Festival Directors

dCHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING
Our Approach to Safeguarding
Roles and Responsibilities
Overview;
Safeguarding is at the heart of what we do and fundamental to our existence as a recognised performing arts platform for dancers.
Our event organisers are specialists in child safeguarding practices. The purpose of this document is to outline our approach to child protection and safeguarding with commitment and confidence.
Safeguarding children is the action we take to promote the welfare (or wellbeing) of children and protect them from harm. Child protection is part of the safeguarding continuum and focusses on the activity that is undertaken to protect individual children identified as suffering or likely to suffer significant harm 2 Child: This policy is in respect of all children. A child includes babies, children and young people from prebirth up to 18 years. In Scotland, there is a variance to this where a child is someone up to the age of 16 years unless the child is subject to a supervision requirement by a Children’s Hearing, in which case they are considered a child until the age of 18 years.
The best interests of the child are paramount in all considerations about their welfare and protection, including when to maintain confidentiality and when to share information about them.
Children have a right to participate in decisions about their lives. Their views, wishes, feelings and experiences are evident in our work with them.
Concerns or allegations that Ultimate Dance Events staff or volunteers have abused or neglected a child or adult will be managed sensitively and fairly in accordance with these policies, relevant legislation and local procedures.
Working together with children, their parents, carers and other agencies is essential to promoting children’s welfare/wellbeing and ensuring their protection. In some limited circumstances, it will not be appropriate to engage with parents and carers to protect the child.
As part of working together we expect professionals to act on our concerns, and we will escalate our concerns in our efforts to be satisfied that the child has been protected, taking a stand in cases where we consider the protection of the child has not been taken seriously either with Ultimate Dance Events or those investigating child protection.
Allegation/ Concern identified at Ultimate Dance Events and reported to event directors.
If an allegation has been made against a senior member of staff such as the Directors or event staff consultation between alternative senior member of staff/venue staff
will take place to establish action to be taken.
Distinguish allegation from complaint;
Discuss allegations/concerns with the said staff member and discuss further action to be taken.
Reports and advice from exterior services such as child welfare/social care/police etc will be requested.
Staff members disciplinary investigation will take place. If suspension from duties is required staff member will be informed in writing that they should not return to work until investigation has been completed and a sufficient outcome is decided. Employers and the employee are asked not to discuss the allegation with colleagues or exterior persons.
Alternatives to suspension; The individual undertaking duties which do not involve direct contact with the child concerned or other children. Providing an assistant or colleague to be present when the worker has contact with children.
At Ultimate Dance Events we endeavour to do our best to avoid suspension allowing time for an informed decision to be made and possibly reduce the initial impact of the allegation. This will depend on the nature of the allegation.
Initial consideration meeting to discuss allegation and further action to be taken. review initial consideration meeting and establish outcome as the following;
Unsubstantiated/unfounded, malicious or false. Employer returning to work and receiving substantial aftercare and support to build confidence in working with children again.
Employer unsuitable refer to DBS.
At all stages local authority designated officers to safeguarding children will be kept informed.
Working closely with children at Ultimate Dance Events.
Due to the nature and type of work carried out at all Ultimate Dance Events programmes as a performance platform for children and young adults a certain amount of care and attention is required when working with children in the performing arts environment.
Ultimate Dance Events staff should always ensure there is adequate supervision within changing facilities at all times i.e chaperones/parents/guardians and that children are supervised throughout event days by an adult and under the correct suitability and ratio of children to adult.
Children working at a higher/advanced/competitive level may find they are subject to minor injuries such as falling/slipping. i.e Contemporary and Acro Gymnastics performances where rolls/falls/jumps/aerial work are required, bruising can occur. In this instance the teacher/chaperone/parent of the child should be immediately made aware.
Photography and Videography – By taking part in all Ultimate Dance Events teachers are agreeing to all children under their umbrella/school being. photographed or videoed for promotional purposes for Ultimate Dance Events and for parent purchase. Parents/Guardians must make it very clear to Ultimate Dance Events staff should they wish for their child not to be photographed or videoed. Personal photography is not permitted backstage or in the dressing rooms.
All Ultimate Dance Events staff duty of care to each individual child; any person in charge or working with children and young people in any capacity is considered both legally and morally to owe them a duty of care. The child’s welfare is paramount and this means that the child’s safety and protection must be the most important consideration and take priority over everything else
Ultimate Dance Events designated safeguarding leads are both registered chaperones with DBS certificates and understand the obligation to all children partaking in their events.
A child performing, rehearsing for a performance during the performance period, taking part in an activity, or staying in accommodation in order to take part in a performance or activity under a licence, must be supervised at all times whilst taking part in a performance or activity, or whilst at that accommodation, by a chaperone, unless they are under the direct supervision of either their parent or a teacher from their school. Chaperones must be approved by the local authority that has granted the relevant licence to the child as part of the application process as being suitable to exercise care and control of the child in question.
